Mask Making?

a little disclaimer here first...
I did this entirely on experimental ways. It may not seem as nice (in fact, it could be one of the worse mask made in history) but then, i kinda figure it works?
I'll see if i have extra time i'll try to make another one, one that looks better than this....

ANYWAY, first....we need to have these...
- Balloon
- Strips of Newspaper
- PVC glue
- Blade (DUH!?)
- Scissors (duh again?)
- marker
- Spray Paint/ Pastel Paint/ Watercolor (whichever you want to paint the thing with)


Well, yeah..you cut the newspapers into those strips...it's for the paper mache...^^
I drew a face shape onto the newspaper, it's for measurement purposes....

Then i drew the face shape onto the balloon with the marker (heck, you can use pen or pencil...lol..if you're skillful enough not to pop the balloon)


Yup..that's the size of my face..(okay, maybe slightly bigger than my face la...XD)

Then it's time for paper mache..!!
Well, i made a mistake when i was mixing up the glue substances....i added too much water instead of the glue.....=_= BUT, i coated another layer of glue without water onto the paper mache...i believe it worked out ok?

Then, the next thing i did was to let it dry, and pop the balloon.
Took about 1 whole day to dry, no thanks to the rainy weather...=_=
Also, LOL.....i was running around the house finding people to help me pop the balloon.....i didn't want to pop it myself...didn't know why...LOL!!!!

ANYWAY....here's the result...

Well, so far so good....I taped it with masking tape to secure it from opening up...(because i used the wrong mixture of glue and water...so it made it a little bit wobbly...=_=)

Then, i proceeded to painting it....It didn't turn out well for the spray painting part because of the newspaper strips.....there were obvious lines (which made it look so much like Jim Carrey's THE MASK =_=)

So i had to wrap it around with a flat layer of newspaper. That was the mistake, or so it seemed.
I don't know how to put it into words, but i coated another layer of glue on it...
The rainy weather didn't help much, so i had to speed things up by using the hairdryer.....

ANYWAY, i came so far already, i'm not gonna give up, so i continued on and painted in the details...



I had to make do with watercolor, because genius ol'me had forgotten to get poster paint. Oh well....
Oh, since i wasn't gifted with artisan's hands, i had to draw outlines of the details onto the mask first. Wouldn't wanna screw up the drawings now would i ? LOL....

so, after painting in the details....i finally finished my mask..!!!!
I believe, some would already know what mask this is...but then, not gonna put in the final thing, i might wanna mend the so-called finished product..^^

NEXT WEEK, gonna turn into a slave for prop making again.....=_=

5. Who is your favourite person to cosplay as?

Actually, i have a lot..but if i really have to choose...i love cosplaying as Superbi Squallo from KHR. His is loud and noisy...just like me..haha..i don't have to hold back when cosplaying him...XD (but i have to drink lots of Red Bull man...cosplaying him needs energy...=_=)

6. Who do you REALLY wanna cosplay as?

Well, i love winged characters.....so it's either Yue, or Krad....though, Krad would be nicer...coz he is EVIL..!!!!!l

7. How many of your friends cosplay?

ERrr......i really seriously don't know...haha....but, they are great and awesome people.

8. Have you ever walked around in public in your cosplay outfit?

DUH..yeah....last time when i had my Bleach photoshoot in Putrajaya, then after that we went to Alamanda to have our lunch. People thought we were from Star Wars...=_=|||

9. Have people in public ever recognized you and asked for photos?

well, yeah.....i remember after a certain event near pyramid, me and my team went to Sunway Pyramid...when paying for parking, this Arabic girl tourist walked up to me and riko and said' VAMPIRE KNIGHT!!! CAN I HAVE A PHOTO!!!!!' then she took off her tudung thingy....i went 0______0 *utterly shocked*

(she even mentioned that her mom would kill her if she knew...I LAGI TAKUT!!!! what if her mom kills me instead?!?!??!)

10. Have you ever made your own cosplay outfit?

ERRRrrrr.......PARTS of it...yes....the entire one....NO...(come on, it took me 2 hours to sew a badge on..=_=)

11. What was your favorite cosplay experience?

hmm....favourite? I believe it was during GACC '10. It was a road trip down to Melacca with the team, and we had SOOOOOOOOOO much fun during the first day of GACC. Well, not really for the event, but it was really really nice to be able to catch up with old friends, meet new friends and well.....cosplay XD. (i still remember taking WTF photos....i think i was wearing Riko's Megumi top with the Aoshi costume under it....and....er....Cikgu and Lacry was playing around with my Aoshi coat...LOL)

12. What is your worst cosplay experience?

Worst? hmmm...not much...but i kinda almost gave up on my Sheryl Cosplay because it started to rain when we arrived at the photoshoot venue. I was really feeling damn EMO that time. (and cosplaying as a female didn't help much...=_=)

Another one was well....i think during my photoshoot as Shiki from Togainu no Chi....i blacked out for a few seconds....everything was black...and it was a good thing i was sitting that time. I believe it was due to dehydration....and i was wearing black leather under Malaysia's immense heatwave. (in short, WANT TO BE HERO LA..DIDN'T DRINK WATER DURING THE SHOOT TSK TSK TSK)

13. When and where did you first learn of cosplay?

Went to this AXN anime event thingy, and then i saw cosplayers.....and i was like..WHOA...there's such a thing!??!?!?!? Then that year, i went to CF03, and was immediately brainwashed.....

14. What did you think of it then?

AMAZING.......and well...TOLD YOU ADY LOR..!! BRAINWASHED!!! =_=

15. What do you think of it now?

Addicted, and most of my lifestyle revolves around it. I go to gym, because i wanna stay in shape to cosplay. I take care of my skin, because i dun wanna have pimply face when cosplaying, I have certain hairstyles and hair color and maintain it for that certain character. When i buy clothes, i think whether or not i could use it for cosplay....

So, what do you think I think of it now? ^^

16. Where do you usually cosplay?

Events and Photoshoots....Most of the time photoshoots...XD

17. Have you iever done a cosplay skit on stage?

yeap...but then i never joined on my own name...it's usually to help out fellow friends...^^

18. Do you plan your cosplay outfits way before you’re meant to wear them?

YES....before i actually put on the costume, firstly i'll see if i like that character, whether or not the built is suitable, whether or not the costume is suitable for my body.....and the poses that will compliment the character and costume. Also, planning on material as well as where to get/ tailor them. A LOT OF PLANNING TO DO LA!!! (props summore leh?!!!? jialat lorrrrr...)

19. Ever have something terrible happen to your outfit?

HMmm...usually the leather ones are the ones that gives me headache. Because it's not REAL leather, it tends to peel off after some time....(especially the pants...T^T)

OH....and well, my sync costume's zip broke..T^T WAAAAAAAAA...*wails and cries*

20. What is the best thing about cosplay?

The confidence i gain and the friends i know. These 2 are the most valuable thing that money cant buy in the world.

21. What is the worst thing about cosplay?

err.....the financial status of my purse? LOL....it's a money consuming hobby...but to gain something, you have to sacrifice another...rite? XD

22. Why do you cosplay?

It improves me as a person. Yes, some might call me weird, freak and also nothing-else-better-to-do-ka? but it's something i do with passion. I could not guarantee how long i'll be indulging myself into this unique hobby but when i finally retire from it, i'll be able to look back, reminisce the wonderful times and be proud that i was once a cosplayer....

Lovers Doll

Once upon a time,
there was a doll that only needed his master's love to develop a soul.

Well, yeah....this was taken from a manga entitled 'Lovers Doll'
A shonen ai manga i stumbled upon just 10 minutes ago.
It was nice albeit short, but definitely sweet. I definitely recommend this title to anyone who loves comedy, fantasy and a tinge of tragedy (just a tinge, not much ^^)

You could see that the master and the doll's relationship bloom and it is one of the sweetest thing in the manga.
Definitely one of the best manga i've read. Short, sweet and fulfilling.

Why you asked did i thank God ever so much?
Well, i just got one shocking news when i was came back home today.
When i was halfway having dinner, my mom broke the news to me...

My grandaunt was ALMOST robbed when she went for her morning market routine.
It happened near my house, it is the normal route i took when i went jogging.

My grandaunt was approached by a man riding on the motorcycle, who pretended to ask for directions. When my grandaunt said she didn't know anything, the man went away for a few minutes, only to return to her with a parang. (my grandaunt was en route back to my house that time)
So my grandaunt screamed out loud ' JANGAN JANGAN JANGAN!' then i suppose that son of a bitch got frightened and left.
then my grandaunt quickly walked home and related the story to my mom.

I am so thankful that i did not receive any emergency calls from home during work.
According to my grandaunt,the son of a lousy ass bitch shouted to her ' DUIT DUIT DUIT'.....and had rather tanned skin.
So i suppose it is a Malay.
what is a fucking lowlife like him doing in a chinese housing area?
Fuck it, if that fucking lowlife son of a bitch just so touch my grandaunt a bit, i swear to god, i'm going to go find a bomoh/witch and curse that fucking lowlife's 5 generations to come.

In fact, i'm already cursing that fucked up lowlife bitch's son. 5 generations to come, thta fucking son of a bitch will have children that is wrongly treated, and it will all reflect back upon what that son of a bitch had done in his life.
He will suffer, but his decendents will suffer even more pain and anguish.

What A DREAM!!!!

okay...i don't know how the heck i get this dream but here..

It was about KHR...=_=
i have no idea how long it was since i last watched the anime / read the manga...
so i have absolutely no idea how the hell i dreamt of this....

It's 10 years into the future, and well, somehow or rather....the varia arc happens there....(nope, sorry...no byakuran...didn't really like that arc....maybe subconsiously i omitted byakuran because of that..haha)
ANYWAY, the twist to this is....it's 10 years later, but the TYL and past versions of the characters are side by side. (as in, TYL later squallo and past squallo together..WOHOO...double squallo!!!)

and crazily enough, tsuna's character was omitted too....and replaced by non other than....yours truly...=_=
(though, i wasn't that useless la..haha)
and nope, there's no reborn either.....come to think of it, i didn't see mukuro and hibari either...
i only saw......Squallo, Xanxus, Gokudera, Yamamoto and Ryohei.....HMMmmmm.....

I remember running up to a rooftop, wanting to open this door, but only the guardian of the sun could open the door....something like, inserting the ring into this keyhole....and then the ring will turn into a key.....LOL...
Then Xanxus and Squallo appears (both young and TYL), and then the fight begins.....
and the funny thing was, i was wearing izaya's outfit....=_=....i am like...WTF?!?!?!

then...the alarm rang...hahahah...

from this dream, i can only say that......subconsciously, i might not want to sell my Squallo costume after all......which is maybe why i dreamt about this...
AND, i might be thinking too much on getting that izaya coat....LOL...
OH, how my life (and dream) is filled with cosplay......

It still matters.....

no matter how much i try to deny it, it still plays an important part..
yeah, i'm talking about body size....

i mean, you compare an L sized sebastian with an M sized sebastian cosplayer...
obviously the M sized one would look nicer...
No doubt that size is not a big issue with cosplays, (heck, there's photoshop, angles.....etc) but then still, those with a smaller frame looks nicer cosplaying.

So, i know many people told me that i've lost LOTS of weight, but still it's not enough....
I've always wanted to cosplay Lelouch, pilot suit alleluyah, pilot suit michael...but then, all those are body tight fitting costumes. People like me would look FUGLY wearing it....
So, my question here is...
how the heck do you lose inches around our hips?
(notice that i always cosplay characters with costumes that covers the ass? yeah...that's my weakness.....trying to fix that problem now)

i know spot reduction is impossible (unless i go for liposuction) but, is there any way to lose overall inches, but more on the hips?
(somehow, overall includes boobs...my bras are all getting bigger for no good reason...)

The bottom line is, no matter how much one tells me that body size doesn't matter when cosplaying....well, in reality is....it does...
you wouldn't want to see me as gunner yuna now do you? obviously someone with a smaller and sexier built will be more pleasing to the eyes....^^;;;

he is set to perform on  the 14th of October 2010 in Putra Indoor Stadium, Bukit Jalil.
well, yeah, i know it's a thursday.....and friday is a working day...but heck cares..i'm still gonna go.

The tickets are a little pricey but then again, it's ADAM LAMBERT!! (seriously, if i'm not going to Singapore in November, i'll be getting an even better sit, but then my funds have to be split up into 3 categories now.....because in October, my Revoltech Danbo is coming too....so i'm seriously broke beyond words.....T^T)

ANYWAY, i'm gonna go on a Adam Lambert rampage now, because he is OH SO AWESOME!
and lol, i would have already cosplayed him last month if it weren't for my hair outgrowing the plan.
