Comic Fiesta 2011 : Post Event Report CF Day 01

Comic Fiesta came and passed us by in a flash...
It was so fast...i mean like really..to me it's like..
WHAT WHAT WHAT?!?!?! WHAT HAPPENED DURING THE WEEKEND?!??! WHAT?!?! it'S OVER???!?!?!?!

ahem~
anyway..
let me start off the report.....

Day 01
Our team debuted Team Reload....in our default outfits.
The roles were mainly :

Genjo Sanzo - me! XD
Son Goku - Riko
Sha Gojyo - Michi
Cho Hakkai - Tsu

Also Relyss reprised her role as Saitou Hajime from hakuouki but the Calendar version..^^

Well...i'm sure right now, everyone would've known how superbly messed up the queuing system was on the first day....
heck, it was so long.....the queue wasn't even in KLCC anymore..!!!
why? well...the KLCC management took over for crowd control and man...it was a mayhem....they should've left it to the CF commitees to do it...and the KLCC management staff showed no respect to both cosplayers and the event attendees.

I heard one of them scolding...like really SCOLDING the attendees......it was so rude of them..
i felt so much like twacking them with my harisen.....

The overall placing placing of the booth were not bad....as you entered the hall (if you managed to enter THAT IS..=_=), on the right side were the sponsor booths (which sold an array of ACG merchandises....) straight on was the stage and then on the left was the doujin booth...
It was easy and straightforward. It wasn't as packed as last year too....(maybe because of crowd control?? i dunno...=_=)
I bled.....i bled well at the doujin booth.....spent RM50 on mugs, but those were for my colleagues's farewell gift.....and i spent another RM45 on the CF T shirt.....><;;;; (it was compulsory to get the t shirt..!!! it's an annual thing okayyyy..!!!)
Kinda sad because most of the doujin booth sold only button badges and bookmarks...

However, my overall experience during the event was awesome because Ceui and Mikuni showed up almost on time...

Ceui sang 5 songs...all of which i'm not very familiar with..most of them were from the anime 'The legend of the Legendary Heroes' (i think)....an anime i've not seen yet...but maybe i would after this..haha...
Mikuni on the other hand sang songs from Full Metal Panic and Genso Saiyuki (WOHOOOO!!!!)
she sang her album rendition of 'Alone', 'Sore Ga Ai Deshou', 'Tomorrow' and one song i'm not too sure...
I left the hall when she did the duet with Ceui...T^T (we were hungry..T^T)

When the mini concert was ongoing, our team stood at the far end of the doujin booth's side, because that place wasn't too crowded plus we could see the stage from there...(perspective ppl...i could see mikuni and ceui dancing around on stage from there..and there weren't any crowds around)

We werent posing or whatever, we were actually watching the concert..but we have a lot lot lot of people coming up to us asking for photos..
As we were all very well aware of the rule 'NO PHOTOGRAPHY AROUND DOUJIN BOOTH', we had to decline a lot of them......SO VERY SORRY FOR THAT!!!! THE COMMITEES TOLD US NOT TO HAVE OUR PHOTO TAKEN...so we had to keep our promise..!! ><;;;
(we can't do anything about 'snipers' though...=_=)

After that, we went into hall 4.....and OH MAI GOD..there were so many people around HALL 4..!! cosplayers AS WELL AS event go-ers....
(well, the KLCC management did a 'GREAT' job keeping everyone locked in hall 4..=_=)

However, this CF was a different one for me.....usually during events, our team would've NINJA-ed through everything....without being able to meet friends and take photos of other people...
BUT, this CF..i met a lot of old friends, as well as spoke to some random strangers regarding our fandoms....
it was like..CF 2005 all over again.....^^
There was a Singaporean Dude who i spoke to regarding our fandoms on Saiyuki....it's SO DIFFICULT to find a guy who loves saiyuki..and that guy was very friendly....LOL..
ALSO, i had a cosplayer expressing her love to me..=_=....i went WTF????

LOL...so all in all....it was an awesome CF2011 for me.....yeah well..parking didn't kill us that much because it was RM20 shared out with all of us...so we didn't nearly died..hahaha...

Comic Fiesta 2011...EPICLY HUGE EVENT!

17th and 18th December...the day where you'll see lots and lots of colorful heads and extravagant costumed people walking around KLCC...

Yup, next week is Comic Fiesta....one of the biggest ACG event in Malaysia. This year, the event will be graced with the appearance of artists Mikuni Shimokawa and Ceui.....
I dun really know anything about the latter, but Mikuni Shimokawa has sang one of the best songs in anime history, and to have her come for our Malaysian event is like a dream come true.

Well, it wont be a full blown concert, but hopefully she'll sing a song or two..
hopefully she'll sing 'Alone' from Gensomaden Saiyuki.....somehow, comparing FMP's songs and GS's...i kinda prefer her 'Alone'....

ANYWAY~~~~
why did i say CF2011 is a HUGE event?
first, they managed to get 2 international artists here..(kudos CF TEAM!!)
secondly, it'll be held in the heart of KL, and one of the most prominent venue in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur Convention Center...
(though, parking would definitely kill all of us, but oh well....^^ once a year..i suppose it's worth it..XD)
3rd...
HOLY THE PROPS FOR THE TEAM IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST EVER IN OUR HISTORY OF COSPLAY.....
well, i know it's miniature compared to the rest of the AWESOMEWTFBBQPEWPEW cosplayers out there, but for us...it's considered huge..LOL..

and this year we are lack of 2 team members (the Yeoh sisters flew off to London for their brother's convo....)
so we're a bit SHORTHANDED...LOL..hopefully all goes well next week..LOL..

AAAAA........my costume is still not ENTIRELY 100% done yet, because i need Riko down to help me sew it..(i HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO SEW INSANG PARI....=_=...the only sewing i know is Jahitan Kia...=_=)

so err..yeah..
and i can forsee, the least i'm spending at CF this year, is RM100..that's the least....oh boy~~~~~

Plain SUEY~~~~

'Suey' is a local term used here...it simply means 'UNLUCKY'..
Okay, why did i use this word on me?

For the first time, after getting my drivers license since i turned 17, i finally got my first traffic summon....
And all because i parked at this stupid roadside to get a quick bite before i go for my weekly badminton session.

I was in fact trailing my other colleague's car because i wasn't too familiar with the place there. When they decided to stop at the roadside to park the car, i went 'huh? why park here?' but then decided to follow them anyway.

BY GOLLY was it a wrong choice. when we came back to the car after our pre workout meal, we find a yellowish crappy paper being slipped in between our wipers..
i immediately went FUUUUUUUUUU~~~~!!!!!

Now, i'm not too sure how much the fine for this offense is. I checked online, but some could fetch up to RM300...
WTF? parking illegally and a RM300 fine? WTF IS THIS?!?!?!?

Gah.....suey is SUEY.....
And this month has already been my 'broke' month, with Comic Fiesta and Christmas/ New Year's eve gathering popping up, i think i'm gonna go........sell myself or sumthing...=_=

AFA 2011 - my thoughts....

hmm...this is more of a OPINION blog rather than a rage one....
why did i say this?

well, first off....i didn't experience this myself, rather, i read this from misc blogs and notes around FB and the net.....
OKAY...
the whole issue with AFA 2011....and why the Malaysian Community is raging over it...

Apparently, in a video on youtube, when they were introducing the teams (i'm not sure if it's an official video though) there were only 4 Teams, when there should be 5...
BINGO~~ they left out good old Team Malaysia........

Apart from that, other countries were given at least 2 months to prepare for their regionals, but Malaysia only had..what..like..3 days?
Other countries had stages, halls, proper events for their prelims, Malaysia had.....a Shopping mall, and a SMALL connecting bridge at that...no bigger than a normal school classroom....
Stage? WHAT THAT?

Come AFA, ALL contestants were dumped aside at a corner of the hall where it is DARK and had NO LIGHTS...there was a toilet (DING DING!!!) but wait.....THAT TOILET WAS LOCKED!!! =_=

THEN, i came across an article that said Team Malaysia did an 'ORIGINAL COSPLAY'.......er...i thought that if it's original, wouldn't they be DISQUALIFIED in the first place?
And then, during the Q and A session, Usagi, one of the judges, mentioned that it'd be better that Team Malaysia's performance were longer.......

But they kept to the criteria, and that was a 3 minute skit.....i believe only Team Malaysia and Singapore followed the 3 minute criteria......
The rest of the finalist had more than 3 minutes, and no penalty points was taken....(or so i've heard)
So there might've been some miscommunication with the judging criteria? no?

But no doubt about it, Team Philippines was AWESOME with their performance.....but truth be told, Malaysia did their fare share of fighting too....it's not always Armory cosplays that require more work...sometimes, props that aren't armor based has LOTS to do too.....
It's good that one of the judges noticed the hieroglyphs on Team Malaysian's props....GOOD JOB JUDGE!! (lol..i dunno his name..hahahah..)

but all in all, there were lots of miscommunication from what i've read from the wallpost of FBs here and there..

HOWEVER, i still did not regret going down to AFA 11....in fact, i feel even more proud now because i was there, giving support to our fellow Malaysian team.....(though, i was sitting WAAAAAAAYYYY behind...i couldn't move around easily because i was wearing heels..><;;;)
I just wanted to say....TEAM MALAYSIA.....you guys RAWKED THE HOUSE..!!!! awesome awesome awesome performance from you guys.....

My life so far~~~

i see everywhere on my FB...countdowns countdowns and countdowns..

OMAIGOD why do you guys love to countdown so much???
all my CF props and costumes are not entirely done yet, and with that said...i dont even dare to tell people who i am cosplaying...LOL..

it's my principle...if i don't have it ready to go, meaning i'm not ready to go..LOL..get it?
haha.....unless i have everything ready..(wigs, boots, costume...parts, and props) i wouldn't claim i m going to appear as so-and-so....

i'm no seamstress in this area, so i practically suck in sewing...
i'm having a hardtime figuring out how to 'pencilize' my pants...
lol..you know those pencil pants?? those that looks like a carrot cutting?
i need to shrink the bottom part of the pants..and that alone made me @_@;;;;

and my mom has been bugging me to edit the photos from my bro's wedding..
GOSH....it's like a mad year end rush!!!!

But, on a sidenote, I FINALLY CLEARED MY CREDIT CARD BILLS!!!
OH MAI GOD...after an excruitiating 4 years with 4 digit debts, i finally cleared it off..!!
so heed my advice young ones....it's fine getting a credit card, but YOU HAVE TO MONITOR WHAT YOU SPEND IT ON!!! if possible...use CASH...the 'Ka Ching' is always better than a CREDIT-LOAN-SHARK that's hidden in your purse....LOL

I will most probably update this blog with more cosplay tutorials in the future..there are a few on hand, but i haven't really compiled the photos yet..LOL!!

RANT POST AHEAD~~~~~

well, i thought my therapy of going for a weekend vacation could mend my lethargy and tiredness of making prop..turns out, well...it did take my mind off certain things, but new things popped up and began messing with my mood..

I was originally ok with everything....but turns out, i think i know why i can't find a suitable partner after all these years..
I think it's because of my.....how do you say it...'compatibility-duration'...
i need time out for almost everything......that being said, i can't spend too long a period of time with selective people....
i dunno how to explain this, but it does get frustrating at times...

NEXT...
it's regarding my costume that's coming from China....
I have no idea what blunder happened, but in the end it was my costume that was left behind in China...
and MY COSTUME is the one that has the most alterations to be made....and THAT PARTICULAR costume had to be the one to be left behind..
talk about SHITTY luck........
and to add to the shitty luck, China had to go on a 1 week holiday...and with that, my costume is being held back another 1 week.....TOPPINg up with the amount of time needed to reach my place, that'd take almost half a month.....

I wouldn't wanna be pointing fingers here..all i could blame is my luck that hasnt' been too good lately...
Maybe i should go pray in the temple or sumthing......

time to sleep....=_= totally lost my mood for prop making......PFft...

Toothaches...worse pain EVER!!!

well, no pain could rival that of a Toothache...
It connects so freaking close to your brains, that it makes you go out of your mind.

I originally wanted to continue completing my prop making during the weekend...but then the pain took whatever i mood i had.
In fact, it took more than my mood...it took a hefty RM230 from me....
the dentist did some filling in and washing of the teeth..

Did it hurt? well, not at that time...because the sedative was doing it's job...
Now that the sedative's effect is gone...

YES..it hurts FUCKING MUCH.....
i feel like killing myself now...
the pain is a real torture....=_=
