What's with the secrecy!?

Seriously, i do not understand organising commitees nowadays.
An event date is meant to be released as early as possible, and same goes for it's venue so that people can plan and do the necessary arrangement before it's too late....

I understand that it's one of the most looked forward to events of the year, but hey, if you release the dates and venue too late (or rather hold it secret), then what's the point of the whole thing?
Go ahead and keep your secrets of your cosplay plans or whatever, i don't even care a single bit what you're cosplaying......but come on, what's the rational in keeping the venue and dates in secrecy?!

Try to understand, not many are locals...so we'll have to hunt for hotels...
Not all are students......so we working people will have to apply for our leaves....
and it's not easy getting it......
OKAY, even if some of us are students, then it'll take some time to convince our parents to let us go OUTSTATION for some event...

With all these issues, i really don't understand what they are thinking....and maybe i never will..
i'm sure that they have already confirmed a date...i wouldn't mind if they mentioned that the venue is not confirmed yet......
an event that big-a-scale, if the dates are not confirmed, then......i'm speechless...
same goes for the venue.....at least notify people which venue they are currently looking at, that way we could still scout around for possible hotels/accomodations..

PFFt....and i thought that are already experienced.....sad case..
