ALLADIN RUN 2013 ~~ AGAIN!

While everyone was sleeping, OR not asleep yet this morning (1st June), i woke up at 4am, to prepare for my annual Run, the ALLADDIN RUN, organised by DKSH.
(i have no idea if the name now is pronounced as ALADDIN, or ALL-ADD-IN....lol, a few of my friends were debating on the name after i posted up the running tee. but oh well....XD)

I gone on a hiatus on running mainly because my running partner shifted and transferred back to Johor Bahru.  Till now i've not found any running partner. Also, maybe age is catching up (LOL!) because i despise morning runs. I can never get enough sleep (even if i went to bed at 8pm the night before). i mean, come on~~~ waking up 4am on a weekend!? that's blasphemy~~~!!!!!

AHEM, but anyway...today's run was a different one. With only 601 participants, i could see a very clear and huge chance of winning top 3 in the run. I'd imagine that if i run consistently at my pace and finish 5km in less than 30 mins should suffice. It's enough, but not merely enough to beat the winner for the Female Open.

By the way.... I came in 2nd ^_^

I clocked in at 28mins (official time) for the 5km run, but the winner clocked in at 23 mins. I was neck-in-neck with this lady at one point of the run. We overtook each other a couple of times, but halfway through the run, i had abdominal pains again....which resulted me in slowing down and she pulling further away.

When she was approximately 25 meters or so in front of me, i knew it was too huge a gap to catch up. Unless she tripped and fell, or i started sprinting like a mad Olympic runner, i knew i wouldn't be able to catch up anymore.

Thus, i remained consistent at my current pace, and finally finished 2nd in my category.

Although i lost to the winner, i'm relatively happy because the time i clocked in beat my previous year's record (which was, 32mins for 5km). It was a significant improvement IMHO.

ALSO, what i was really delighted about was that i also beat the previous year's winner's runner and record. That girl came in 3rd, approximately 1min and a half behind me.

At least i manage to retrieve some consolation from waking up so damn early on a Saturday (which was, by the way a public holiday because it was the Agong's Birthday)

Got myself an extra pocket money of RM200~!!
(it's either going into my funds to get an iPad Mini, or my Japan trip funds)
i remember last year my winnings (which was also RM200) went to my Comic Fiesta costume funds. I was saying whether or not i cosplay, depends on whether or not i won any 'sponsorship' from the run. LOL

So yeah, here's what i got in my goodiebag this year~~!!

Quite a lot of stuffs. But originally i didn't get this bag. It was a funny thing. The MOST IMPORTANT goodie to me was the Famous Amos cookie. And the first bag i got HAD NO COOKIE IN IT!!

i immediately went to the officials (in charge of goodie bag) and said to her..

' THERE'S NO COOKIE IN THIS BAG!! THAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENT IN THE GOODIE BAG!!! CAN I CHANGE?!!??!?!?'

Obviously she let me change my goodie bag, else i would've thrown some kiddie tantrum..lol! COOKIES ARE IMPORTANT OKAY?!?!?!

So yeah, here's how i look after my 5km run.

I'm not too sure whether i wana join this again next year. If i don't have any friends/colleagues joining i might not want to anymore. But we'll see.....who knows, i might need the money? XD

Also, my HR manager was there and before the run, he said 'IF YOU DONT GET TOP 3, DONT COME TO OFFICE ON MONDAY'.....i assumed it was a FREE LEAVE for me....so, Jymmy, do i still get my FREE LEAVE? i ended up top 3.....

whoa....it's been 5 months since i last updated anything here.
nope, not dead yet... Just that i couldn't find the mood, or inspiration to write anything concerning my life here.

But anyway, i'm here....
There are a few backlogs that i will update in the future.
(stuffs like photoshoots, and my obsession to the more-human-like world...*coughsbenedictcumberbatch*)

ANYWAY~~
today's entry is just another normal post.
Oh, i received flowers in office today. (nope, not sent by any secret admirer...don't think i have any..T^T)
They were 6 lovely Sunflowers sent by my closest colleagues (i could actually call them sisters already...we basically spend our holidays together..heck, even helped them shift stuffs to their new house)
Thanks Giao Giao and Gaisi....i really felt so much better after the cheering up....

It's now on my table, giving me the sunshine i need everyday~

THEN, my journey to the gym was cut short by the disastrous traffic jam. Took me almost 2 hours to reach home. Usually only took me 20 minutes to reach home/gym. Apparently there was a crane that fell on a vehicle somewhere near a construction site. While i'm really sorry for the person who was involved, i'm kinda pissed off by those busybodies that stop and look.
Traffic Jams in Malaysia are usually caused by busybodies like those...not the actual accident victims.
Bunch of losers....

As i reached home, i thought..okay, maybe i'll just watch a couple of Criminal Minds episode and call it a day.
But, the worst news came in.
Received a phone call from my sister-in-law...and she told my mom that....well......let's just say, i am almost, but not just yet. (i know it doesn't make any sense...but meh....don't think i wanna say much anymore.)

Stress from work isn't helping out much either. All that is keeping me going is my Japan Trip in November.
Maybe this is a difficult time for my family, i just wish the powers that be could give us all the strength to pull through.
I may look all cheerful outside (i try to, i need to...my family doensn't need another moody-looking person to dampen the day..not when my bro is all bad mood almost all the time after he started working)

The only place i can rant is well..this blog of mine.
But don't worry, i'm not about to break down. I know i have family, friends and people who care for me. So i'm going to pull through, fight through and be cheerful ol' me again.....
I just need time. (seriously, now...i'm taking Orphenadol...i have no idea what that is, but that's what the doctor prescribed me)

Last day of 2012

And so we reached the end of 2012. So much for the Mayan Apocalypse eh? XD
2012 was a fun filled year for me. There were ups and downs, but nevertheless a truly wonderful year.

I've had my tooth extracted, went to soooooooooo many places (in fact, this year was the year i travelled the most! - Started off with Hong Kong, then Vietnam, then Kukup and finally Taiwan)
Next year it'll be Bali and JAPAN~~~~

so, Comic Fiesta 2012....(obviously this would pop up)
i really did enjoy it really much. With bless4 gracing our event (and what i heard from most people, they are a bunch of humble kids) and having a concert for us. Truly one of the best CF events ever.

I didn't really enjoyed cosplaying as much this year... mainly because i hurt my arm the morning of the day 02 event. (had a nasty fall in the toilet, bumped my head and 'acquired' a deep cut on my elbow) I couldn't move much and i felt crippled during the event. It's not helping much that i went and crippled my dominant arm.

But, in any case.....
Day 01

Prince Diamond of Sailormoon R

This was the dude that i cosplayed on day 01. Not many people recognise the Black Moon Clan though. I guess it's too obscure? lol....but i enjoyed pretty much cosplaying him. Especially with my team.

During the event, we split up to get our secret santa gifts. Reason why we had it during CF was because we thought it'd be great that everyone got something from our ACG fandom. 

We originally wanted to have our secret santa on the first day, but hui ching had a nightshift the day earlier, so she practically slept through the event. LOL....

and then later the night, Tsu and Riko left, leaving me, relyss and michiru to enjoy the concert.

EVERYONE went up on stage and high 5-ed with them. They were so humble and down to earth people. Truly one of the highlights of the event. I was thankful that i stayed back and listen to their concert. When they sang Genesis of Aquarion for encore, i couldn't contain my happiness.

Day 02

Sebastian Michaelis of Kuroshitsuji

I was in pain the entire day because of the fall. I almost couldn't make it for the event. But thank god Relyss and Michiru was with me. Thank you so much~~~!!!

That aside, i'm really glad i went. I finally cosplayed one of my dream characters. I feel i could retire now with no regrets. (3 characters that i really wanted to pull off before i hang up my hobby - Sanzo, Yue and Sebastian)
not that i'm retiring anytime soon, but will most probably NOT suggest anymore new teams to cosplay. I'll probably be riding on people's plan starting from now. and a bunch of recycled costumes. LOL

Then, come the night of secret santa exchange..!
I dunno about the rest, but for me, i feel it's great that we all exchanged gifts of our fandom so that we can all gush about it when we receive it. My secret santa, i still don't know who was it, gave me this awesome supercute Nyanko Mug.

My reaction when i received it........i totally couldn't explain. I was screaming like a mad person. Up to the point Relyss had to say ' CALM DOWN. HOLD YOUR EMOTIONS!'

Yes, it shows how much i love the gift. It's now in my glass cabinet casing. Only to be used for special drinks (coffeee la.what else...haha)

but, THANKS AGAIN MY SECRET SANTA~~~!!! <3 nbsp="nbsp" p="p">

Also, my loot during CF...i spent almost RM300 on the stuffs there. Mainly because i bought 4 'Betrayal Knows My Name manga'

Also, thank you so much MICHIRU for the kuroko calendar. And LETS SAMA SAMA PAKAI NYANKO when we are on our flight to JAPAN~~~!!! <3 p="p">

That's that for Comic Fiesta.....

Cosplay Ball was another fun event i attended this year. 

To me, the cosplay ball is more of catching up with old CF members.

I was surprised people remember me. Shaun was sitting the same table as me, and when he saw me, he went ' hitokiri sien!?!? THE hitokiri sien!??'....i was like..yeah..haha...

then he went on about how we knew each other back during when i was a college student and stuffs..It was cool catching up with Shaun. (FYI : he was known as Hisashi Glay back then. which is why i never really added him on FB....couldn't find him..hahaha)

Then Chibineko and Swing (OMG YOU CUTE CUTE LOVEY DOVEY PAIR~~~!!) came and sit with us and started chatting away. I didn't know that many people in the ball, but surprisingly, all of us could just conjure up a conversation.

Then Dei came over and we had a long chat. It's awesome that he is releasing a movie in Aussie soon. It's really just.....nice and warm to have all the old friends sit together and chitchat.

And lol, once again with the coscard. Shusuke was going all 'YOU HAVE COSCARD? DUN LIE~~~~~ I KNOW YOU HAVE~~~'..

i was like..errrr..i really dun have. i have my business card though. LOL

Shusuke was the uber GENKI uke....like omg..i could see myself 5 years back in her...hahaha....

Animangaki 2012 : Aftermath

Day 01 - Cosplaying Kurosaki Ranmaru of UtaPri Debut
I was actually kinda worried about bringing all the musical instruments......it was a rather huge keyboard and also heavy electric guitar to be lugged there, and also there's the keyboard stand.
It's no easy feat bringing these to the convention center.
Good thing i have the entire team to help me out. (thanks guys, you are all lifesavers!)

Usually i wouldn't bring all these to events (i tend to cosplay more 'easy-less-prop-not-so-many-things-to-take-care-i-want-to-keep-my-hands-free' type of cosplays. LOL)
But since Himawari is leaving soon, and it'd be difficult to have a shoot with her in the near future, we were like...OH WHAT THE HELL YOU GUYS HELP ME LUG THOSE INSTRUMENTS LA I BRING....LOL
It was as little bit of a confusion at first (for me) because i've never really done any shoots with other photogs that much before. I have no idea how they work, so i just went with the flow.

We were all cosplaying characters from the game

Uta no Prince Sama : Debut. 

We were supposed to cosplay Ren, Masato and Shou...but somehow, it switched to the seniors because we were brainwashed by their songs as well as their appearance in the game. haha...
I originally wanted to take Camus's slot, but seeing that i'm not familiar with the cello (and i do not have one), i eyed on Ranmaru. Ranmaru is a little bit like Adam Lambert IMHO.
He is punkish, his make up and everything....and his songs...it's so rockish! (so totally my type!)
Well, he IS a little grumpier, but he is SOOOOOO CUTE in the game. (especially when he is with Masato.....LOL)

As for the event itself, i only bought Day 01 tickets.
This was the first time, i have NEVER spent any $$$ on doujins during an event. Most of the stuffs on sale were button badges and bookmarks.
Also, there weren't any fandom of mine which was on sale. Though, i almost spent on a Nyanko jacket, but seeing that it wasn't my size (XL..T^T WHY YOU SO BIG?!?!) i had to put it back.....
Also, i apologise if i couldn't recognise anyone during the event. Whenever i wear contact lenses, my vision tend to be reduced by 30%....

1st day cosplay really gave me arm training from all those instrument lugging. But it was really fun! It was in fact my first time posing with an electric guitar.

Day 02 - Cosplay Izaya Orihara of Durarara!
THE EMB IS BACK!!! I couldn't express how much love i have for this character.
It just comes so natural and i totally enjoyed it.
Also, to add sweet and sugar to everything, Xanthe WAS MY SHIZUO!!!
I forever happy...my OTP is fulfilled. But she was a less angry/grumpy Shizuo..haha..
It was much fun cosplaying with her, and it was  MY VERY FIRST TIME AFTER ALL THESE WHILE TO BE ABLE TO PAIR UP WITH HER.....FIRST TIME AFTER ALL THESE TIME!!!
Tsu was Kida Masaomi. I totally enjoyed looking at the photos from those 'running-you-chase-me-then-i-chase-you' comic strip. I had no idea what they were doing, so when i was told to run, i just...er..ran..LOL..
then after i saw the preview shots in the camera, ONLY i knew what these people were doing..hahahaha...

OH and one memorable thing that happened during the shoot was being locked in the emergency exit stairway...
Somehow, Jia found a stairway, which was quite suitable for our theme shot.
 We didn't full shut the door tight, first was to let the aircond in, 2ndly so that we could exit from there.

So halfway shooting, Usagi(Hexlord) opened the door and we were all like 'HEEYYY!!! FINALLY I SEE YOU!!!! HELLO!!!! *waves*'..then badum...the door shut tight.
We were all clawing the door because there WERE NO DOOR KNOBS for the emergency exit door.

We sort of...panicked a little (i think), and then we started to hunt for a way out...
GOOD THING there's the basement exit....after that we were like...NO MORE...LEt'S GO ROOFTOP AND SHOOT.
so yeah, basically that was one of the most 'memorable' incident that happened..hahha...

Had totally awesome fun during Animangaki 2012. We shall wait for our Shinra to come down from Penang, and well...maybe after that we'll plan a shoot for our Durarara!! Team.
I'm still trying to get Michiru to cosplay Anri or Celty though...but..she doesn't seem to show any interest in this series...T^T

After months and months of procrastination, i finally swallowed my guts and went to the dentist.
Of course, i still went with my dad. haha...

I keep hearing from people
'oh, it doenst hurt'.....'it's ok, just an ant bite'...

well, it's either your ant is a puny sized ant, or you pain receptors are all dead, coz i can ensure you..

IT HURTS A WHOLE DAMN LOT!!!!!

okay, back to how i got myself into this shit..

At the age of 4, being the mischeivious kid that i was, i was running up and down the stairs...
of course, a kid's balance isn't THAT well, so i slipped, fell, and bumped my tooth on the side of the stairs.

That particular tooth chipped off, and it never bothered me eversince.

AFTER 20 years, it's like....oh, why not i give the owner some pain...
*initiates pain button*

so yeah, it started giving me slight problems...and started to turn black....
THEN, it chipped off even further......leaving only the root and exposed nerves.

I had no choice but to extract it as the first dentist i went to said that there were no other choices except to extract it.
That time, i had wanted to extract the tooth, but then the dentist advised that it's better to only do 1 thing at the time (i did fillings and washed my teeth that time)

omg, good thing i listened to her, otherwise i wouldn't have any sides of the mouth to eat at all..!

AND SO, now ......it's lunch time...my tummy is grumbling, but my tooth hurts. (post extraction syndrome)...

i dun dare to put anything into my mouth..heck , i dun even dare to drink water...

Workout and Motivation

Workout and Motivation

How often do you workout?
- Almost everyday (except 'that' particular time of the month)

How long do you workout?
- hmm..depends....if i have a run or marathon coming up, i would run more in the gym. Most probably 1 hour or so to build stamina.
- Also, if there's a cosplay event or photoshoot, will most probably put in an extra 30 mins.

Where do you workout?
- Usually i'll hit Fitness First after work during the weekdays. (except wednesday, that's the time i play badminton with my colleagues)

What do you do when you workout? (run, cycle, resistance, etc)
- I run most of the time. Occasionally i row the boat (there's this boat rowing machine in the gym) and i cycle (my very own RPM with my anime songs.... :D)

What is your motivation?
- Cosplay.......that's the one and sole purpose i'm putting in so much during gym. Works wonders!

What is the hardest part of working out?
- hmmm....getting started? the first 3 minutes into the run, you'll feel like....meh, can i stop now? Maybe coz the muscles are just being lazy? but then when i hit the 6th or 7th minute, i start to hasten up my pace......sometimes completing 10km in a run without even knowing it...haha...

Are you the talkative type?
- errr....not exactly. I usually shun myself out of the environment during my workout period. 2 earphones stuffed into my ears. That's all i can hear. Which is why, i prefer to hit the gym alone. I do go with friends, but then they know my routine. ^^

Any favourite quote for working out?
- Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what gets you going. You've gotta turn working out into a habit. Just having motivation is not enough.

Well, i guess that's that for my workout Q and A.
I saw this from myfitnesspal, and thought it's a good way to make myself realize certain goals when i workout.

ANNNNNNNNNNND, that's exactly what's happening in my life now.
My brothers...elder and younger ones are at war for the internet connection now.
Malaysia doesn't really have a very stable, or rather......GOOD internet connection to begin with....
(oh HK how i miss you so.....your internet connection is oh-so-awesome!)

SO here's what happened....
My younger bro downloaded DOTA 2 a few months back, and that's when the internet wars began.
All these while, my sister-in-law and my brother usually streams on youtube for songs...(as to why they don't wanna download them and play them in itunes, i couldn't understand why....)

and with the recent DOTA downloaded, we're all forbidden to do what we usually do...all for his highness..
ME, being the innocent one caught in between, have to listen to both side rant about how unfair life is, how mom dots the younger one, how the older one only listens to his wife, blablabla...you get the drill...

HELLO!?? i haven't voiced out about FAIR here ok...
who's the one being the slave of the house all these while?

and when i was at my most lethargic moments, i have to do all these....
(period, tired, sprained ankle, muscle cramp....nah, all non valid excuses)

SO, my brothers have the nerve to rant about how my parents were being unfair to them..
the next time they say that, i'm going to just say

HELLO PAMPERED BRATS!!!! YOU HAVE GRANDMA AND PARENTS' PAMPER...
THE MIDDLE ONE GETS SHIT..!!! WHAT I HAVE NOW, IS WHAT I WORKED FOR..!!!

One couldn't stay out of the house during tertiery education for more than 2 weeks, one couldn't even stay out AT ALL......both are spoonfed since young....
i stayed out and finished my tertiery education.......it was all myself...i washed my own clothes, cleaned my own room, tidied my own bed..

SO, you both wanna fight...GO AHEAD.....but don't drag me into your nonsensical mess....

GOsh...and i thought men were more open minded..turns out they react worse than girls..!!
